this week (06.28 | 9:30PM)
We have a special guest, the lovely Kate Simko.
Kate is a Chicago based minimal techno producer currently touring the U.S., including stops at the Winter Music Conference, DEMF, Mutek and the Montreal Jazz Festival. She also has a brand new record out a 12" split with Jonas Bering titled "Cityscape," through Seattle-based Kupei Musika. The head of Kupei, Rafael Anton Irisarri, will also be playing at Oscillate, showcasing his DJ skills before Kate's live dance set.
Kate's last appearance in Seattle at the VIP Room was a ton of fun, and this is our biggest Oscillate of the month. Hope to see you all there!
Here's a link to Kate's live set from DEMF to give you an idea of what to expect:

RAFAEL ANTON IRISARRI
Rafael Anton Irisarri is a Seattle resident, multi-instrumentalist, producer, label owner, and music publisher closely aligned to the thriving Scandinavian electronic music scene. His debut solo release for Norway's Miasmah, "Daydreaming," is earning huge accolades from the international music community, most significantly The Wire and De:Bug. UK's Boomkat.com named it "Album of The Week," entering its Top 20 charts. After carefully listening, one can understand why: this is rich, visual music showing a dark, melancholic side to American life. Captured perfectly by the emotive piano shimmering around radio static and lightly picked guitar - it is impossible not to get drawn into the shattered American dream. Irisarri also helps with sponsorship for the local Decibel Festival and is active in the overall worldwide music community.
